Position:                            3D/Multimedia Graphic Artist

Location:
Telecommuting. Occasional travel required. Open to candidates residing within 3 hours of Philadelphia, PA.

Job Description:

Full or part-time professional serving as a 3D/Multimedia Graphic Artist to assist in the development of technical documentation and multimedia training materials (including static images, animations, and computer-based simulations using 3D models)  across multiple complex hardware systems, including military equipment/systems.  The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of engineering concepts, CAD, and highly specialized and complex technical illustration.

The position is contingent on the contract award expected in or after May 2025.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and optimize 3D models for seamless integration within Unity.
  • Utilize 3d software to create, edit, and refine models.
  • Collaborate with the programming team to ensure models are efficiently implemented within Unity using C#.
  • Apply textures, materials, and details using Substance Painter (or equivalent) to enhance realism.
  • Work closely with the art director and other team members to maintain the aesthetic quality and coherence of the project.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to 3D assets within Unity.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in 3DS Max software.
  • Experience in optimizing 3D models for Unity.
  • Familiarity with Substance Painter and other texturing tools.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing realistic 3D models.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a keen eye for realism.
  • Artistic skills, including a strong sense of color, lighting, and composition.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate ideas clearly.

Preferred Skills:

  • A basic understanding of C# programming within the Unity environment
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with multiple 3D modeling software and tools.
  • Knowledge of Unity’s asset pipeline and performance optimization techniques.

 

Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subjected to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements. Active or past clearance preferred.

Education Req:

B.S./B.A. degree in Computer Animation, Graphic Design, or other relevant field and 3-5 years of multimedia asset development experience. AA degree acceptable with 4+ years of experience.
